Anna Wintour will receive Outstanding Achievement Award at this year’s BFA’s

The British Fashion Council has announced that Anna Wintour will be receive the Outstanding Achievement Award at this year’s British Fashion Awards.

The Editor-in-Chief of American Vogue will be given the honour at the awards evening, which takes place next month. It celebrates the contribution that Ms Wintour has made to the fashion industry throughout her lengthy career.

Talking about the decision to select Wintour as this year’s recipient for the award, Natalie Massenet MBE, Chairman of the British Fashion Council, said:”Anna Wintour has helped, nurtured and advised the careers of some of the world’s most brilliant and creative designers.”

“There isn’t a person working in fashion who has not been inspired and influenced by Anna’s leadership…”

As well as being in charge at Vogue since 1988, Brit Wintour is also artistic director for Vogue publisher Condé Nast.

This year’s BFA’s will take place at the London Coliseum on December 1. Nominees for awards include fashion favourites such as Christopher Kane, Charlotte Olympia and Cara Delivigne.
